NFL Insider Reports Positive News for Shedeur Sanders Amidst Criticism
Heading into the 2026 season, the pressure is on Shedeur Sanders. After a rookie season that saw criticism around the rookie for his performances, the Cleveland Browns may be easing the pressure on the young star.
As per Terry Pluto, “Don’t be surprised if they draft a pair of offensive tackles fairly high. Or perhaps a center and a tackle,” Pluto said.
We've been asking for the Browns to reinforce the O-line for ages. Shedeur Sanders took a big chunk of damage from it, getting sacked 23 times in the second half of the season. And it had a clear effect on the team. In 2025, they averaged just 262.1 offensive yards per game.
But that's not all. "And yes, they are looking to add at least one receiver."
The receiver group needs a massive change. Last season, Sanders' failure partly came due to costly misses from Jerry Jeudy, who had his worst season in the NFL so far (602 yards, 2 touchdowns). None of the Browns' receivers managed to break the 1000-yard mark.
If Shedeur Sanders has reliable targets, he could prove himself as QB1. After all, during his time at the Colorado Buffaloes, Sanders had a 70%+ completion rate compared to his 56.6% at the Browns.
Who Are the Prospect Draft Picks in the 2026 NFL Draft
As far as offensive tackles are concerned, 22-year-old Spencer Fano from Utah Utes is a sound choice. Meanwhile, Miami’s offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa is also projected to be a first-round pick.
At the same time, Carnell Tate is one of the best receivers from this year's draft class. Could we see the Browns go for him or trade their way to a top receiver?
The Browns have much to improve in the offense unit. And fans are hoping the next season is different from the one that ended with a 4-12 and 5-14 record. What are your thoughts?
