NFL Insider Makes Outlandish Myles Garrett Trade Claim for 2026

Despite being one of the few positives out of Cleveland's 3-12 season, there's talk of trading Myles Garrett away.
NFL Insider, Sheil Kapadia, suggested trading Myles Garrett to strengthen the weaker parts of the team.
"My one move for the Browns this offseason is to trade Myles Garrett. Can you get more than what Micah Parsons got? This roster s****…We are past the point of 'maybe they can turn it around next year.' The Browns are at ground zero. Keeping Myles Garrett on a 4-win team in 2026 is like giving a guy a gold watch while he’s still trying to run a marathon. Let him go win a ring while he’s still the best defensive player on the planet."
Just like the Dallas Cowboys did with Micah Parsons earlier this year, the Browns could get better players for their OL. And with Myles Garrett's 41 solo tackles, 17 assists, and 22.0 sacks in 15 games this season, he will fetch value in the market.
The insider added, "His value will never be higher than it is right now. You have teams that think they are one piece away. If you’re Andrew Berry, you have to realize that three first-round picks do more for the Shedeur Sanders era than one 30-year-old Myles Garrett does."
Garrett signed a 4-year extension with the Browns this year worth around $160 million total, averaging about $40 million per year.
But does Myles Garrett want to move away?
Before the 2025 season started, Garrett did not want to stay with the Browns. Before the 2025 extension, he was under a five-year, $125 million contract extension, after which he wanted a trade.
He said in a statement obtained by NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport that he'd like to move elsewhere before the 2025 NFL season in chase of his ultimate goal.
"My love for the community of Northeast Ohio and the incredible fanbase of the Cleveland Browns has made this one of the toughest decisions of my life. These past eight years have shaped me into the man that I am today...The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it has always been to compete for and win a Super Bowl. With that in mind, I have requested to be traded from the Cleveland Browns."
But that did not happen as the Browns convinced him to sign another extension. With another disappointing season, they may be forced to think otherwise. Let us know why you think in the comments.
