With Myles Garrett gone, the Browns' defensive makeover is under the spotlight. As questions swirl over the unit's future, NFL insider Dan Labbe dropped a bold prediction involving Carson Schwesinger and Harold Fannin Jr.

“I’m confident in saying Harold Fannin is going to be really good this year, and I’m even more confident saying Carson Schwesinger is going to be good this year,” Labbe said on the “Orange and Brown Talk” podcast.

That is quite a bold statement to make, considering the fact that the team has a new defensive coordinator, Mike Rutenberg, who is looking to add his own tactics to the game.

If you're picking two Browns to have breakout seasons, Harold Fannin Jr. belongs on the list, or at least that's what Dan Labbe believes, as he expressed on the "Orange and Brown Talk" podcast. With David Njoku gone, Fannin Jr. might take over as Cleveland’s TE1.

Fannin Jr. posted 72 catches, 731 receiving yards, and six touchdowns in 16 games as a rookie last year, and that's enough reason for the Browns to look to him with optimism. Meanwhile, Carson Schwesinger wasted no time in leaving his mark in Cleveland.

The Rookie linebacker piled up 156 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and 2 interceptions in 16 games, earning AP Defensive Rookie of the Year honors. The 23-year-old is already making a case to become the team's defensive leader.

Both young talents have what it takes to become leaders in their respective positions.

But as Cleveland undergoes a major transition with an entirely new coaching staff and coordinator group, it will be interesting to see what changes they make.

That being said, one insider expressed that the future of the team would depend on its young players as the veterans leave the team.

Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer believes that Cleveland’s long-term future extends beyond its current roster.

“But I think there’s a good chance the quarterback for 2027 isn’t on the roster yet, and that the long-term fate of the current regime rides more on the development of the core from after the Travis Hunter trade.”

The insider believes that the quarterback situation is already facing intense competition, and on top of that, the franchise's next chapter could hinge on rising talents like Carson Schwesinger, Mason Graham, Harold Fannin Jr., and others.

“With the progress from Carson Schwesinger, Mason Graham, Harold Fannin Jr., Quinshon Judkins, Dylan Sampson, KC Concepcion, Spencer Fano, Denzel Boston, and Austin Barber crucial to that,” Breer wrote.
