NFL Insider Drops Massive Update on Browns' Future as Dark Clouds Loom Over Kevin Stefanski's Future
Kevin Stefanski is already in hot water after losing to the Titans, and now, there's already talk of a prospect to replace him
NFL Insider Richard Johnson took X on December 11th, dropping an update on who could be the next head coach for the Browns if Stefanski is fired.
“The Browns would 'strongly consider' hiring Colorado HC Deion Sanders to be their next HC if they decide to move on from Kevin Stefanski. Are we really about to see it happen?”
This comes on the back of Coach Prime's recent visit to the Cleveland Browns' facility. Browns owner Jimmy Haslam greeted Deion Sanders, where the latter could be heard saying, “We’re glad to have you. Let’s have 12 [Shedeur Sanders] play well today.”
If the Browns were to change their HC, Coach Prime could be a strong candidate.
Since taking over as head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes in 2022, a program that had gone 1-11 the prior season. Deion Sanders managed to turn it into a 9-4 in 2024, including a tie for 1st in the Big 12. He brought in multiple five-star recruits and elite transfers like Julian Lewis, Cormani McClain, and Travis Hunter.
Could he do the same at for the Browns in place of Kevin Stefanski?
Well, the Browns are on a similar trajectory. It looks like they're spiralling towards another 3-14 season with squad troubles. Fans are concerned that Shedeur is not getting the development he needs.
Could Sanders bring the Coach Prime Effect to Cleveland? He was able to boost recruitment and mould Travis Hunter into the Heisman trophy winner we know today.
Plus, the Browns have a young offense. Shedeur Sanders is surrounded by rookies. Isaiah Bond, Harold Fannin Jr. and Quinshon Judkins could use the guidance of a 2-time Super Bowl Champion. Perhaps they can even build a solid core for the future team.
It would be a far reach that would come at the cost of firing a 2-time AP NFL Coach of the Year. What do you think? Can Deion Sanders be the answer for a struggling Browns team?
