NFL Hot Seat: 7 Head Coaches Who Risk Losing Their Jobs This Season

The 2025 NFL season is heading into its finale, and with it, some coaching careers are destined for turnover. From Zac Taylor to Kevin Stefankshi, some coaches have much to answer for their teams’ performance and might lose their jobs.
Find out who else is definitely going to have a chat with the management?
7. Mike McDaniel, Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins have already fired their general manager, Chris Grier. The team ranks 6-8, made 296 points, contrasting with 324 of its opponents. Although he pushed the team to four games straight, the team ranks at the bottom.

6. Todd Bowles, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Bowles’ roster once featured legend Tom Brady, but the team hasn’t been the same since he retired. After losing to the Atlanta Falcons in a 28-29 game match, Bowles raged against his own team in the post-game conference. If he could still push the Buccaneers into the playoffs and win, chances are he could keep his job.
5. Zac Taylor, Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals have had a bad season. Quarterback Joe Burrow was absent for 9 weeks due to a toe injury and lost two consecutive matches against the Bills and Ravens. The latter was on their home turf and humiliating. They could’ve made it to the playoffs, but the team just fell apart.
If Burrow doesn’t come back stronger and the team doesn’t perform, Taylor might be coaching another one next season.
4. Kevin Stefanski, Cleveland Browns
It is difficult to believe Stefanski has won Coach of the Year twice. He has maintained a 6-25 record for two years, and the Cleveland Browns don’t seem to be improving at all. Fans and critics are calling for his job because of constant quarterback shuffles and procedural and in-game mismanagement calls.

Browns insider and journalist Mary Kay Cabot said, “If they are looking for reasons to let go of Kevin Stefanski, they are finding them.”
3. Pete Carroll, Las Vegas Raiders
74-year-old and legendary Pete Carroll on Sunday said, “I thought we would come in here and find success that we would be proud of. Right now, it doesn’t feel like that.”
On Sunday Raiders became the 13th team to lose by 31+ points twice in one season. They currently stand at 2-12 and might be the last entry on Carroll’s long career.
2. Raheem Morris, Atlanta Falcons
Although the Falcons won against the Buccaneers last week, their only victory in eight games. The Falcons are a talented bunch with Running Back Bijan Robinson (1,174 yards and 6 touchdowns) and Tight End Kyle Pitts (797 yards, 73 receptions), misused by Morris’ game plan.
By his second year as the Falcons’ head coach, Morris has lost 13 out of 18 games and might not get another chance to undo this disaster.
1. Jonathan Gannon, Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals have lost 11 of 12 games this season, including their last six consistently. Sad considering they opened the season 2-0 and made everyone believe they were Super Bowl contenders. In four of those six lost games, the Cardinals gave up more than 40 points and lost by an average margin of over 22.
This season cannot be blamed entirely on their quarterback issues. Jacoby Brissett did well as Kyle Murray’s replacement (2708 yards for 18 touchdowns). The problem lies with Gannon’s defense strategies, which rank 27th in points allowed (27.7 PPG). This team needs reevaluation and regrouping. Maybe without the current head coach.
