NFL Fans Troll Quincy Williams After Linebacker Ditches Jets for Browns

The Cleveland Browns have reportedly signed linebacker Quincy Williams away from the New York Jets. The move, however, isn't being celebrated by everyone. NFL fans on social media are already questioning the decision.

After the NFL announced the move on X Tuesday, football fans began trolling Williams for choosing the Browns.

While the Browns are the best team as far as defense is concerned, led by star defensive end Myles Garrett, they've had players leave as well. LB Mohamoud Diabate and LB Jerome Baker have been left on the market. More importantly, Devin Bush was lost to free agency.

Moreover, Jim Schwartz, the unit coordinator who was responsible for the elite performance, quit this off-season, prompting fans to question the wisdom behind Williams’ move.

Many Said Williams Went From One Bad Organization to Another

“13M for a linebacker coming off a down year? Browns are overpaying as usual. Jets fans are probably laughing right now,” the comment read.

In 2025, the Williams made 45 solo tackle and 3.5 sacks, without making any forced fumbles or interceptions. Since his move to the Jets in 2021, last season was Williams’ career worst.

While another fan commented, “That’s a nice pay day for a LB who fell out of favor in New York.”

Interestingly, with the loss of Devin Bush, Williams becomes one of the highest-paid linebackers for the Browns. It was also a major upgrade, since Williams was making roughly $18 million across three years with the Jets.

One X user reacted with a GIF that said ‘it’s the same thing,’ and captioned their post with “Going from the New York Jets to the Cleveland Browns.”

Both teams have had losing seasons last year. Moreover, they finished at the bottom of their respective divisions. The only difference here is that Williams is moving to one of the best defenses in the league.

Even then, fans wouldn't stop the barrage. One wrote, “D*** from one sorry organization to another sorry organization,” which was followed up by another one. “Bro went from h*** to h***,” another reaction read.

While Williams is set to join the Browns, the franchise still has not declared its starting quarterback. But what was your reaction to this development?
