NFL Fans Troll Geno Smith After Wendy's Offers Raiders' QB New Job
After a difficult 2025 season, the Las Vegas Raiders might release Geno Smith. However, one fast-food giant has already stepped in with a surprising job offer.
ESPN reported the other day that the NFL franchise plans to release the quarterback before the start of the new league year.
"@GenoSmith3 in case things don’t work out in free agency we’re looking for a Chief Tasting Officer…" Wendy's official X account captioned while sharing ESPN's post.
Geno Smith joined the Las Vegas Raiders on March 13, 2025, when the Raiders traded a 3rd-round pick (92nd overall) to the Seattle Seahawks to acquire him. And while his contract runs through the 2026 season, reports suggest that they will release him before that.
A big reason behind that could be how bad his 2025 season went. He had a passer rating of 84.7 with 3,025 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions in 15 games. Releasing him would give the Raiders $8M in salary cap space while taking on $18.5M in dead money.
Plus, they also have the number 1 pick in the 2026 NFL draft. That means they can very easily get Fernando Mendoza, the best QB in the 2026 Draft class. What about Smith? Given his performance, no team might go for him. That's why Wendy's trolled him with the offer, and the fans joined.
NFL Fans Trolled Geno Smith Over Wendy's Offer
One fan said, "Bro will throw an interception to Burger King". Smith had the most interceptions by a quarterback in 2025, with 17 interceptions. A comment said, "Geno would be better at @SUBWAYwith all the Meatball subs he had last season."
In his first 5 games, he already had 9 interceptions, tying the Raiders QBs for the most interceptions through five games since 1970. A user also said, "Omg. Wendy’s from the top rope!"
In wrestling, a wrestler sometimes climbs to the top rope of the ring corner and jumps off to hit an opponent with a big move. Wendy's comment was just as impactful. "Man what a fall from grace, lmao. This not even worth victory lapping," a fan said.
Smith was actually a very good quarterback for a few years, especially with the Seattle Seahawks. He even won the NFL Comeback Player of the Year in 2022. And he is getting trolled by Wendy's. What do you think about this?
