NFL Fans React After Kevin Durant Makes Surprising Claim Over Myles Garrett’s Future
Myles Garrett is someone who has gained respect over the years in the Browns' locker room.
Now, with his future in the team being a topic of discussion again, Kevin Durant is here to make a comment on him too.
Durant recently appeared on the Up & Adams Show, where the host, Kay Adams, asked the basketballer about his favorite NFL player in the 2025-26 season. "I'll have to say Myles Garrett," Durant said.
Adams also asked him if the star defensive end will stay with the Browns or if he wants to see Garrett go to some other team. "I just want to see him play football for as long as he can and continue to climb up the charts," the Two-time NBA champion said.
He continued, "I don't care what jersey he has on. He's one of the all-time great players I've ever seen already. And he's having that type of impact in the league." Durant then started talking about the business aspect of the sport.
KD stressed over how one day you're on one team and the next season another. And who would know this better than him? He has played for 5 different franchises in the NBA (Seattle SuperSonics / Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors, Brooklyn Nets, Phoenix Suns).
"But as long as these guys continue to have long careers and stay healthy, that's probably what I'm looking forward to the most. So whatever jersey he has on, I know he's going to do his thing," Kevin Durant concluded. He is ready to cheer for Garrett, whatever team he's on.
Though Myles Garrett had demanded the Browns release him after the 2024-25 NFL season. The Browns ofcourse did not cater to it, and the DE had a great season with them in 2025, but his reaction after Jim Schwartz was not made the HC has sparked speculation again.
The fans have had varied reactions to the basketball legend talking about Garrett's future.
Fans Respond to Kevin Durant Talking About the Future of Myles Garrett
One said, "He should go to cincy." Garrett joining the Cincinnati Bengals would send a lot of ripples across the league since they are divisional rivals of the Browns.
A fan was also angry at Kay Adams for asking that question. "I don’t know if @heykayadams knows that Myles Garrett is under contract. Or she doesn’t know how said contract works. She doesn’t know that he can’t leave," they commented.
Garrett signed a 4-year extension that keeps him under contract through the 2030 season. The extension includes a no-trade clause, giving Garrett more control over any future move.
Another fan said, "Who cares what Durant thinks about the NFL??" Clearly, they did not want to hear about football from a basketballer.
One fan made an interesting comment, "It's hard to chase championships in the NFL…At the end of the day, you're looking at a 53 man roster w/ a lot of contact and variables added to the mix…I mean who thought Stiddy/Drake Maye would be playing in the AFC championship at the end of the year?" And it's true to some extent.
Drake Maye had a passer rating of 88.1 with 2,276 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in 13 games in his rookie season in 2024. At that time, nobody would have thought that he might play in the Super Bowl in 2025, but he is!
