NFL Fans Make Feelings Known After Colts Splurge $100 Million on Daniel Jones Contract

Mar 12, 2026, 6:03 AM CUT

Daniel Jones has secured another massive payday. The Indianapolis Colts reportedly signed the quarterback to a record-breaking, two-year, $100 million deal, and the fans can't believe it.

Danny Dimes' latest deal guarantees him $88 million in two years, which can reach $100 million with incentives. Jones will earn $50 million in 2026 alone.

On Wednesday, Dov Klieman posted about the record-breaking two-year deal, the likes of which the NFL has never seen.

“The Colts have signed Daniel Jones to a 2-year, $100M contract, per @RapSheet. Indy has its franchise quarterback,” he wrote on X.

Before this deal, the Colts had placed the transition tag on 28-year-old Jones earlier this month. That tag would’ve paid him $37.833 million in the 2026 season. However, this swift move avoided any competition from rival franchises.

This deal came after Jones had a successful season with the Colts in 2025. In his 13 starts, Jones recorded 19 touchdowns for 3,101 yards and threw only eight interceptions. He even rushed for five touchdowns. However, the season ended with a torn Achilles tendon.

Fans commented on their disbelief over the move, and some had hilarious quips over Jones’s luck.

This Is Not the First Time Jones Has Signed Massive Deals

“Paying Daniel Jones $100M over 2 years is basically a bet that he becomes the long-term answer under center. High risk, huge upside, the National Football League never sleeps,” wrote one fan who felt this deal was a massive gamble.

“A second 100 million dollar deal for Danny Dimes was not what I would have believed 3 years ago.” This comment was followed up by “Indiana Jones just got PAID!”

And another fan wrote, “Danny Dimes agent needs to start a podcast explaining how he keeps getting these deals.” And another fan commented, “Come on 2022-2024 Daniel Jones.”

These comments were talking about Jones’ previous contract with the New Your Giants. In March 2023, Jones had signed a four-year, $160 million contract with the franchise, out of which $82 million was guaranteed.

While fans are elated for Jones, he remains questionable due to his injury, and it is uncertain if he will appear in the first week. What are your thoughts on Jones’ contract?
