NFL fans let feelings known after Brandon Aiyuk linked to Dallas in surprise move

One of the biggest questions in the NFL right now is Brandon Aiyuk's future. While reports suggest he could miss training camp and prefers a move to the Washington Commanders, the Dallas Cowboys have surprisingly emerged as a potential suitor.

NFL insider Dov Kleiman recently revealed on his X account that Polymarket gives Brandon Aiyuk a 21% chance of ending up with the Dallas Cowboys, and the possibility left fans stunned.

“BREAKING: The Cowboys are now one of the FAVORITES to sign 49ers star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. There is a 21% chance that Aiyuk gets traded or signs with Dallas, according to the Polymarket App,” wrote Kleiman.

While Kleiman's July 11 X post suggested that the Cowboys might be his landing spot, the reality is a bit different.

The latest Polymarket odds list Aiyuk with less than a 1% chance of playing for the Cowboys in the 2026 season, while the Baltimore Ravens are the betting favorites at 4%.

Reacting to the speculation, Cowboys analyst Law Thomas of Law Nation Media wasn't entertaining the rumor.

“😂 I can predict that this is a 0% chance…,” he wrote on X.

Even if there were a chance of Aiyuk ending up with the Dallas Cowboys, the WR's contract situation would make things very difficult. If Jerry Jones wanted Aiyuk, he would have to pay an astronomical price to add him.

CeeDee Lamb is already on a blockbuster $136 million contract that pays him $34 million per year, while Pickens is also expecting a serious raise. Aiyuk's $120 million contract would be quite impossible for the Cowboys to match.

And althoughJones has made some questionable trades in the past, Aiyuk might not be on his wish list.

What's more, the fanbase also appears far from thrilled by these rumors.

NFL fans aren't buying the latest Brandon Aiyuk buzz

Dov Kleiman’s X post was bombarded by fans, who had more questions than answers. Many believe this would be a disastrous trade, while others are still contemplating it.

“He's washed and no chance the Cowboys are getting him,” wrote a fan.

One fan highlighted how adding Brandon Aiyuk to the mix would only put even more pressure on the Cowboys' salary cap, especially considering Lamb and Pickens' contracts.

“Two of the three are head cases, and there's still only one football. That room would eat itself by Week 6,” opined a fan.

One fan also called out the Cowboys' front office, referring to past trades that impacted the chemistry between players.

“This team will really do anything to ruin chemistry,” the fan said.

Another fan came forward to highlight that Aiyuk is more of a problem than a solution for the Cowboys.

“He’s more trouble than he’s worth. Last thing we need is that type of cancer in our locker room,” wrote one Dallas fan.

Meanwhile, another NFL enthusiast pointed out that the former 49ers WR hadn't even applied for reinstatement.

"Aiyuk hasn’t even filled his paperwork to get reinstated," they wrote.

Lastly, one fan expressed that Aiyuk is not even a team player.

“Why, though? Just why? The guy is not a team player,” wrote the fan.

While the fans are not in the mood to entertain Brandon Aiyuk in the Cowboys' locker room, what do you think?
