NFL Expert Suggests Browns to Make Risky First Round Pick

As the 2026 NFL Draft is around the corner, the Cleveland Browns aims to improve their wide receiver room. While there are several top-tier talents in this year's draft, an NFL expert has a different name on his mind.

Connor Rogers of the NFL Stock Exchange made an appearance on 92.3 The Fan on April 19, 2026. During the interview, Rodgers discussed how the Browns should choose Arizona State’s Jordyn Tyson over Carnell Tate from Ohio State.

“At (No.) 6, the feel good pick would be Carnell Tate, but if they get their doctors to sign off on the medicals of Jordyn Tyson, that would be my move at 6,” Rogers said.

“I just think he has the highest ceiling. He's the best separator. His hang-time. He's the guy in this draft at WR who has the best chance to be a true No. 1,” Rogers added.

21-year-old Tyson is an enticing pick if teams, especially the Browns, are willing to look past his injury history

In 2022, Tyson played for the Colorado Buffaloes and sustained a torn ACL, MCL, and PCL in the nine games he played that season. In the off-season, he transferred to Arizona State in 2023 but played in only three games without catching a pass.

Tyson had a breakout season in 2024. According to Sports reference, he recorded 75 receptions for 1,101 yards and scored 10 receiving touchdowns. However, a fractured collarbone ruled him out for the last two games of the season.

In his last season, Tyson was limited by hamstring issues in both his legs and played in only nine games. Despite the injuries, he managed 61 receptions for 711 yards and eight receiving touchdowns.

The wide receiver is talented, but Rogers’ ask is a huge one. The Browns are risk-averse and want to draft a reliable receiver to improve their 5-12 record.

Should The Browns Consider Adding Tyson To Their Depth Chart?

Tyson’s injuries are a major concern. Not just for his career trajectory, but also for the teams that might be impressed by his college performances. Tyson was also absent from the drills at the NFL Combine and his Pro Day due to his lingering hamstring issues.

However, he reportedly held workout sessions for teams to assess him before the grand affair in Pittsburgh. Rogers associating Tyson with the Browns sheds light on one of the key offensive positions the franchise needs to secure.

Last season, Jerry Jeudy was the Browns' WR1 but did not perform upto the mark. Out of the 106 targets, he made 50 receptions for 602 yards and scored just two touchdowns.

WR2 Isaiah Bond recorded 18 receptions out of 44 targets for 338 yards. Bond was also unable to score a single touchdown.

After ending the 2025 season with a 5-12 record, the Browns have signed veteran Tylan Wallace, Isaiah Bond, Gage Larvadain, and Jamari Thrash.

Last season, the Browns' offense was ranked 31st in the league with 16.4 points per play. If they really want to improve in the coming season, the Browns must make good use of their nine picks in the upcoming draft.
