After finding success on YouTube and making headlines with his boxing ventures, Jake Paul is now eyeing a move to the NFL, and he appears to be serious about it. However, his latest ambition has raised a few eyebrows, including those of NFL insider Jacob Infante.

“With all due respect, Jake Paul, what the hell are you thinking?” the PFN analyst said on Football Debate Club.

Just a few days ago, 'The Problem Child,' while speaking with a16z podcast, revealed that he is dead serious about attending Stanford University, playing college football, and eventually hoping to earn a spot in the NFL through the draft as a slot receiver.

Well, his comments irked Jacob enough to raise questions, as he believes that, despite Jake's athleticism, the slot receiver position is simply too demanding for him.

“Maybe this is just a ploy to get some views, and obviously it’s working. But you’re looking at a really difficult jump to the pros for somebody who didn’t play college football. He’s a good athlete, obviously, but the fact of the matter is wide receiver, slot receiver factors in so much more than just being athletic,” Infante said.

Mastering the slot receiver has taken years of route-running, reading defenses, and making split-second adjustments to excel at the position. Jacob believes Paul lacks those skills despite being a phenomenal athlete.

“You need to have great hands, you need to have the route-running IQ, you need the footwork, you need the ability to diagnose different coverage looks and identify how to run your route from there,” Infante concluded.

On top of that, Jake Paul is already 29, making his plan to attend college, play CFB, and eventually get drafted into the NFL seem far-fetched. By that age, most prospects have either declared for the draft or considered not chasing the NFL dream.

In fact, Jacob is not the only one to warn him about his transition.

Interestingly, the younger Paul brother even thought he could skip the college football route and go straight to playing for the Dallas Cowboys or the Cleveland Browns.

“I was originally thinking I’ll just go straight to the Cleveland Browns or Dallas Cowboys,” Paul said in his conversation with a16z podcast, as per NYPost. “But they’re probably going to want to see me play first.”

His comments, however, did not sit well with the internet, including former NFL star Antonio Brown.

“Dude would get f****** rocked,” said the NFL star on social media.

Jake Paul’s boxing run has been successful so far, but his recent loss to Anthony Joshua, which left him with a broken jaw, could also be a major red flag when it comes to pursuing an NFL career.
