After Shedeur Sanders debuted in Week 11 against the Baltimore Ravens, the 2025 Browns’ season and their quarterback drama were beyond salvaging point.

Dillon Gabriel was subjected to aggressive booing in favor of Sheduer Sanders during the game against the Bills. 

But what if Sanders, who is either not enough to some or a safe bet to others, is replaced altogether?

After the Week 15 game, the Browns have the No. 3 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. And CBS writer Josh Edwards predicts that they might pick Dante Moore of the Oregon Ducks to replace Sanders. 

"Shedeur Sanders has fluctuated between good and bad, which is to be expected from a rookie quarterback," Edwards wrote. In six games, the 23-year-old completed only 92 passes out of 167.

And has made six touchdowns for 1,103 yards. The Browns are ranked low for a second consecutive year and are in dire need of strong players.

How Good is Moore?

Meanwhile, 20-year-old Moore has completed 367 of 561 passes for 4,705 yards. He has scored 39 touchdowns and has been intercepted 17 times in three years.

As the starting quarterback, Moore led his team into college-level playoffs in his first season.

Edwards wrote that, “Moore, still just 20 years old, has already faced adversity after starting for UCLA as a true freshman.” 

“The Cleveland-born quarterback would have a chance to accomplish what four other first-round quarterbacks taken by the franchise have been unable to do.”

But Will That Be A Good Decision?

Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot recently raised concerns about how that quarterback drama could affect the draft and next season.

On the Orange and Brown Talk podcast, Cabot said that Sanders has the public’s favor as seen in Week 15. Will the next quarterback be subjected to similar treatment to Gabriel? 

“He brings with him something big and powerful that would be difficult to deal with if you were trying to throw all of your support behind a No.1 pick,” she said. 

There is also the question of Deshaun Watson’s place on the roster. Watson had signed a five-year deal with the Browns for $233, but played only 19 games in four years.

If Sanders is kept an active player, then the Browns must turn away from Watson’s $80 million salary cap. 

Will 2025 be the last season the Browns deal with a multiple-quarterback shuffle?
