NFL Expert Lashes Out Against Todd Monken After Latest Shedeur Sanders Statement
Todd Monken has not been a fan favorite in the HC run, and this NFL expert is done being quiet.
Emmanuel Acho is not a fan of Todd Monken, and his latest remarks on the coach prove it. He recently lashed out at the new Cleveland Browns’ head coach’s supposed hesitation in deeming Shedeur Sanders as the starting quarterback.
The Speakeasy host, who has rallied his support for Sanders in the past, asked what Monken and the management have planned for Sanders.
”What is your plan for Shedeur Sanders? It is not a great draft classic quarterbacks,” Acho questioned.

The Browns have had the worst luck with their quarterbacks recently. After trading Joe Flacco early on in the 2025 season, the franchise plummeted to the bottom ranks after relying on rookies Dillon Gabriel and Sanders.
After both QBs failed to score impressive touchdowns, although Sanders made a lasting impression, questions arose about whether the team chose a franchise QB or pick a new draft pick.
That’s when Acho brought up Fernando Mendoza, who is his eyes, and is yet to prove his worth. Nevermind that Mendoza is the NCAA Champion and mostly the round one pick of the Las Vegas Raiders.
“We do not want to trade up for the number one pick and go get Fernando Mendoza, who doesn’t, who we don’t know if he’s a sure thing. So, what is your plan for Shedeur?”
But Why Is Acho So Riled Up?
The former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker made his comments after Monken’s recent press conference. Right off the bat, a reporter asked Monken who would be the starting quarterback for the 2026 season.
To which he replied that the management is deciding. Between Sanders, rookie Dillon Gabriel, and veteran Deshaun Watson, the Browns are contemplating a reliable starter, and Monken is looking forward to coaching either of them.
“I think like any position on the team, that's still to be determined. Am I excited about Shedeur, am I excited about all the QBs in the room, am I excited to coach this football team? Absolutely,” he said.
It is surprising to see Acho unreasonably angry at Monken as Sanders, whose future is at stake, accepted Monken’s answer with grace and self-awareness.
“Each and every day, I have to prove it. The small goals add up to long-term success,” the 23-year-old stated.
This is the second time Acho has made headlines over a Monken-Sanders issue. Previously, he disregarded Monken’s coaching career and claimed that he had no authority to advise Sanders.
“If I'm Shedeur, why am I listening to Todd Monken? What have you won on an NFL level?”
While his previous comments put him on blast online, the recent ones resonate with the ongoing Browns QB dilemma. Fans want to know if Sanders, a Pro Bowler already, would be starting next season.
