NFL Expert Andrew Berry Has No Call Over Browns' Next Head Coach Decision

The Browns are looking for a new head coach, and the final nail might not be hammered by Andrew Berry. It might be put down on him, instead.

ESPN Cleveland's sports talk show host, Aaron Goldhammer, talked about Berry's role in deciding the new head coach, and he believes that it is not the GM's decision.

Talking about the rumored John Harbaugh's demand for his very own GM, the host said, "And that's not saying that if I was Jimmy, I might not move on from Andrew, because God knows there are enough people around here who want to get Andrew Barry out of his job anyway."

Goldhammer did praise Berry for drafting a good linebacker and running back, but also pointed to his failure with QB and OL. "This is not Andrew Barry's decision. This is going to come down to Jimmy Haslam," he said.

John Harbaugh is a Super Bowl-winning head coach who was born in Cleveland and grew up with hardcore Browns fans. It has been reported that he has demanded around $20 million per year, a $10 million budget for an assistant coach, total authority over the roster, and, most importantly, the power to select his own General Manager.

Haslam had said that it would be Executive Vice President of Football Operations and General Manager Andrew Berry leading the search for the new head coach. But he also added that other key members of the organization and ownership will be involved in the process. It will be interesting to see what it comes down to.

Will Andrew Berry be fired?

That depends on whether the Browns can bring in John Harbaugh and if he is adamant on that request. As of now, the team has not interviewed the former Ravens HC, while other teams have made their moves.

The Atlanta Falcons have already formally interviewed him for their head coaching vacancy. Insider reports also hint that he liked Jaxson Dart while checking films and might end up joining the New York Giants as their new head coach.

But on the flip side, Browns-beat journalist, Mary Kay Cabot, has reported that Harbaugh has not yet decided, as per her understanding, but she also said that she is "Not sure if he'll interview with the #Browns, who were 1 of the original 7 teams to call in the 1st 45 mins after he was fired."
