NFL community make feelings clear as Aaron Donald teases NFL return

The Aaron Donald comeback chatter continues after Myles Garrett’s move to the Rams. With Donald leaving the door open for a return, fans have made their feelings about the comeback rumors crystal clear.

Recently, NFL insider Jordan Schultz texted Aaron Donald about coming out of retirement to play for the Los Angeles Rams alongside Myles Garrett, to which the Super Bowl champion replied that he is certainly contemplating it.

“I’m for sure flirting with the idea. Helluva an opportunity with the Super Bowl in SoFi this year. If I can find the fire, it’s a possibility,” Donald texted Schultz.

Earlier this week, ClutchPoints shared a photo of him flaunting two Super Bowl rings, adding that league insiders believe he could return to team up with Myles Garrett in Los Angeles. Interestingly, Donald reacted to that post with a single-sided eye emoji.

His comment received several likes and comments from fans urging him to come back. His social media activity has only fueled the comeback buzz. And even the Rams are willing to welcome him back if he decides to come out of retirement.

“Here’s what I would tell you, guys, overall, too: Aaron is a guy that I stay really close in touch with, and I know the respect that he has for Myles,” McVay said, Pro Football Talk.

McVay went further, revealing that he had actually spoken to Donald directly about the possibility of Garrett joining the Rams.

“Talked to him about the opportunity to bring [Garrett] on board. If Aaron decides he wants to dust ‘em off at the age of 35, I bet you he can still do it at a pretty high clip.”

While nothing is official yet, fans are eager to see Aaron make a comeback to the team.

NFL community rallies behind Aaron Donald's comeback rumor

Donald's comeback rumor has certainly sparked serious chatter across the fanbase on the same Schultz X post, with many saying that if he returns, the Rams' Super Bowl ticket is all but certain.

“If Aaron Donald finds that fire, the NFC might as well hand the Rams the Super Bowl ticket now,” one fan added.

However, another fan offered a reality check, pointing out that the Rams have limited salary cap space to make that happen.

“According to Over The Cap, the Rams have $16,335,068 of fire to make it happen.”

Interestingly, one fan believes all of this comeback chatter stems from the Arizona Cardinals using their No. 65 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft to select Carson Beck.

“All this because their divisional rivals drafted Carson Beck,” a fan said.

The excitement was hard to miss, with fans barely able to contain themselves at the thought of Donald returning to the field.

"OMG, Aaron Donald??! Is this real life?"

Last but not least, another fan had a warning for offensive coordinators across the league.

“If Aaron Donald actually comes back to line up next to Myles Garrett, then every NFL offensive coordinator is going to start updating their resume,”
