Myles Garrett teases Aaron Donald’s return with latest post

Could Myles Garrett and Aaron Donald soon suit up together for the Los Angeles Rams? Rumors about Donald's comeback have taken over the NFL since he revealed his desire to return.

And Garrett has dropped his biggest hint yet about what could be brewing.

The Defensive Player of the Year recently took to his Instagram Story to share a photo of an autographed Aaron Donald Rams jersey with the caption, "Unpacking."

Interestingly, Garrett's Instagram Story came on the very same day that ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler appeared on SportsCenter and confirmed there is at least some mutual interest in a potential comeback, per Bleacher Report.

"It feels like there's a potential possibility for him to show up and work, but he's been at the facility off and on really for the last few years working out, I can confirm that," Fowler said of Donald, according to a July 12 Bleacher Report article.

While Garrett didn't tag Donald, the cryptic post was enough to send the Rams fanbase into a frenzy over a potential comeback.

Garrett has also previously expressed that he won't pester Donald about a comeback, but would love to play alongside him.

“I don’t want to press him. I want him to find that spark,” Garrett said on the New Heights podcast in June. “If he looks up, he’s like, ‘Huh, I might need another one.’ And he’s like, ‘MG, you want to run it?’ Shoot, why not?”

While the story has made the rounds across social media, NFL insiders also posted a video of Donald working out at the Rams' practice facility, per The Rams Wire.

It was reported that he trained for about an hour, further fueling speculation about a potential comeback.

Given that, experts have differing opinions about his potential comeback to the league.

Aaron Donald return rumors divide analysts

Aaron Donald has achieved everything in his career, from earning a Pro Bowl selection every season to winning the Super Bowl. He has proved all that he needed to.

While the rumors of a comeback are certainly enticing, many around the league believe Donald may not return, as they feel he no longer has the same fire to play.

Former Pro Bowl defensive tackle Gerald McCoy said he did not see it happening.

“He accomplished everything he could accomplish. Pro Bowler every year. All-Pro every year. Won a Super Bowl. Three-time Defensive Player of the Year. It’s like, ‘What else do I need to do? If I come back, is it to get another Super Bowl? I already have one.” McCoy told RotoGrinders’ Kyle Odegard in an interview in June.

While McCoy's statement did make some sense, his recent training video at the Rams' facility has led The Athletic's Ted Nguyen to believe that there is a chance he could make a successful comeback.

“I believe it’s 80/20 he comes back. Third down is going to be a headache against the Rams,” wrote Nguyen on his X handle.

A comeback would certainly work in favor of the Rams, but will Aaron Donald be able to come out of his retirement? What do you think?
