Myles Garrett Sounds Off on Josh Allen Clash with History on the Line: "Make Him One-Dimensional"
Myles Garrett is looking forward to marking star quarterback Josh Allen as his record-tying sack of the season. Aspiring to set a personal record in the upcoming showdown against the Buffalo Bills, the defensive end admitted sacking Allen would be a challenge.
“We’ll have to stop him,” he told reporters on Friday.
“We’ll have to stop that running game. We’ll have to try and make him one-dimensional, but that’s a hell of a dimension to have.”
The NFL record for most sacks by a player in a single season is 22.5. It was first accomplished by Michael Strahan in 2001 and matched twenty years later by T.J. Watt. Garrett is just one sack away from matching it.
In a press conference after their matchup with the Bears, when Caleb Williams was brought down for his 21.5th sack, the 29-year-old defensive end confessed that the record was “always in reach.”

Praising Allen, Myles Garrett said no other quarterback compares to him and is excited to face him next.
“What he can do at the quarterback position, with the ball in general, there’s no one like him.” “It’ll be a fun matchup,” he said.
Why it Matters to Garrett So Much
The Browns have lost consistently this season. They stand at 3-11 so far, with their only consolation being Garrett’s performances.
Although the Browns lost 32-13 against the Patriots, Garrett made five sacks that Sunday in Week 8. So, while the Browns continue to remain one of the worst teams in the league, Garrett aspires to take down the reigning MVP to set his sack record.
“It would mean a lot to get it against him because he’s very special.”
In a press conference on Wednesday, Josh Allen confessed he doesn’t want to be a part of Garrett’s highlight video.
“I do like highlight tapes, but I don’t like being a part of other people’s highlight tapes,” the Bills quarterback said.
So, the competition is between Myles Garrett, the 2023 Best Defensive Player, and Josh Allen, the current MVP.
