Myles Garrett Sends Strong Message to Browns Locker Room After Poor Campaign

The Cleveland Browns have been suffering through another poor season. They have failed to qualify for the playoffs for the second season in a row.

But if there’s one player who has performed consistently throughout the season, it’s Myles Garrett. The Browns’ defensive end was asked about his thoughts after another embarrassing 31-3 loss to the Bears.

He sent a powerful message to the young locker room amid the tense environment around the team.

“You take it one game at a time. You don’t look at the record. Look at the man beside you. It could be his last game; it could be his last game in the NFL; it could be his last game here; it could be your last game. Don’t go out with a whimper. Don’t go gently into the night.”

Garrett’s leadership isn’t spoken about enough. The way he celebrated young defensive tackle Alex Wright’s sacks against the Bears truly showcases his selflessness. The veteran leads the league with 21.5 sacks, just one shy of breaking the record of 22.5, currently held by Michael Strahan and T.J. Watt.

Talking about the Browns’ season, it has already‌ ended, with them sitting last in the AFC North with a 3-11 record. Garrett’s record is the only thing that has kept the Browns fans interested. He has recorded at least 1 sack in eight of his last games. Will he be able to break the record in the next game? Josh Allen’s next up.

Josh Allen speaks about Myles Garrett

The Browns and the Bills share different fortunes this season. While Cleveland has already started planning for the next season, Josh Allen and company will book their place in the playoffs with a win.

Buffalo’s star quarterback was aware of Garrett’s ability and his monstrous form this season. In the press conference ahead of the clash, Allen talked about the possibility of him breaking Garrett’s record sack on Sunday.

“I do like highlight tapes, but I don’t like being part of other people’s highlight tapes. I mean, he’s absolutely tremendous football player, he’s one of the greatest of all time,” Allen said. “We got to be ready for everything he throws at us.”

Allen has been one of the most in-form quarterbacks this season, scoring 25 touchdowns for 3276 passing yards. However, he’s no stranger to the feeling of getting sacked, 33 times this season. Garrett will look to exploit the gaps and recreate the humiliation Houston put him through in Week 12.
