Myles Garrett Keeps Silence Over Trade Rumors Amidst Browns' Horrible Record

Dec 22, 2025, 4:59 PM CUT

The Browns lost to the Bills by 20-23 on Sunday. With that loss, they stand at 3 -12 as the season comes to a close. Myles Garrett, who was excited to face the Bills, fell short and made only half a sack against Josh Allen.

The defensive end is still determined to chase the NFL record for the most sacks by a player in a season, which is 22.5. After yesterday’s matchup, Garrett stands at 22 sacks.

As spectators doubt the possibility of the star player making it happen, questions also arise about why a brilliant player like Garrett is still with the Browns.

In a post-game conference, a reporter asked if he still aims to appear in a Super Bowl, which seems impossible with the Browns, and was still open to being traded. To which the 29-year-old had no answer. He skipped the query by replying, “Next Question.”

Garrett Wanted Out

The Browns have so far won only six matchups in two years, and Sunday’s match marked Cleveland’s fourth consecutive loss this season. Before this season began, Garrett requested a trade in a letter addressed to his team and fans.

“While I've loved calling this city my home, my desire to win and compete on the biggest stages won't allow me to be complacent,” Garrett wrote. “The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it has always been to compete for and win a Super Bowl.”

The Browns’ general manager stated that Garrett would not be traded no matter what. Especially since he signed a $160 million four-year contract extension, and is currently a contract till 2030.

Garrett, expected to play with the Browns till he turns 35, demanded the team improve and support him after Berry’s response.

“If they can show that they will put all the pieces in place, do it in the near future,” Garrett said.

“If we have that alignment and we have a great defense, have time of possession and a running game offense, that will keep my mind at rest. Not just me, a lot of guys on defense and the defensive line.”

As of now, Cleveland will play against the Pittsburgh Steelers next week. And end the season after facing the Cincinnati Bengals in week 18.
