Myles Garrett Express Disappointment After Browns Star Comes Up Short Against Josh Allen
The Cleveland Browns’ star defensive tackle, Myles Garrett, only recorded a half sack in a 23-20 loss against the Bills.
Upon not breaking the record of the highest sacks in a single season, he was disappointed with his performance. Garrett stated that he would’ve loved to break the record against Josh Allen and company, because his family was in attendance.
“For my family. I wanted to get it for them, have some family show up,” he reflected. “They felt like it was going to be the game in the moment, and so definitely want to give them something to smile about.”

However, the thing he was concerned about more was his team’s poor record. The 29-year-old said, “The record’s great, but the team record is what keeps me up at night. The sack record, it’ll be there.” With 22 sacks already this season, Garrett is just one sack away from breaking Michael Strahan and T.J. Watt’s record of 22.5 sacks in a single season.
In the 23-20 loss against the Bills, Garrett produced his worst performance. The Buffalo side’s offensive team perfectly neutralized him, relying heavily on running backs and putting Allen out of danger. He recorded only half a sack and a tackle in the entire game.
Myles Garrett talks about the half-sack of Josh Allen
Josh Allen didn’t have much role to play in the Bills’ rush-heavy offense against the Browns. However, he still got sacked twice. Myles Garrett and Alex Wright recorded half a sack each in the second quarter.
The 29-year-old expressed his honest opinion on getting only half a point for that sack. “No man. I wanted to get another regardless. I felt like that was a big play in the game and, you know, we got to march down and get some points. So, I was happy about that.”
Garrett was also asked about Allen’s decision to retreat in a panic situation. He said, “I saw his eyes get big when he saw me. So, I knew he recognized who I was. So, he started to hightail the other way. And he slipped and I slipped.”
Cleveland’s next two matches are against the Steelers and the Bengals. Garrett has played each of them once, and his performance was quite average. In those two games, he recorded only 7 tackles and 2 sacks.
Will he be able to break the record of 22.5 sacks in the next game? Let us know in the comments!
