The Cleveland Browns’ penultimate game against the Pittsburgh Steelers is going to be a historic one for Myles Garrett. He could accomplish not one, but two milestones during the game. 

This season, the veteran defensive tackle has led the league with 22 sacks. He is just 1 sack away from breaking the record for most sacks, which is held by Michael Strahan and T.J. Watt of 22.5. However, there’s another accomplishment Garrett could reach when he faces the veteran Aaron Rodgers. 

In his career, Garrett has sacked many greats like Lamar Jackson and Ben Roethlisberger. However, he has yet to sack Aaron Rodgers in the two meetings since his debut. The game on Sunday could be the day when the 29-year-old defensive end breaks the record of highest sacks in a single season, by sacking the veteran. 

Their last meeting was in Week 6, where the Steelers defeated the Browns by 23-9. Garrett was unable to sack Rodgers, while the latter scored 2 touchdowns for 235 passing yards. It was a disappointing performance from the Browns’ QB, as he recorded only 2 tackles throughout the entire game. 

Cleveland’s DT has been in monstrous form so far this season, recording 41 solo tackles, 22 sacks, and 3 forced fumbles. However, Garrett would be waiting for an opportunity to put on a show against Rogers and the Steelers. It will be interesting to see whether he stops Pittsburgh’s lethal offense or not. 

Myles Garrett has a gameplan to stop Aaron Rodgers 

In last week’s game against the Bills, everyone was excited to see the battle between Myles Garrett and the star QB Josh Allen. 

Unfortunately, it turned out to be a major letdown for the 7-time Pro Bowler. He just managed half a sack and a tackle. Now, ahead of his battle against Rodgers on Sunday, Garrett talked about how he could stop an experienced QB who had been quick to get rid of the ball. 

“Got to take away those easy access throws. I’ll make him look at his second read, and he’s got to keep rushing. You know, there’ll be ops if uh you know we continue to get stop during the game and you can’t continue to lean on those quick passes when you got to score points.” 

Rodgers has been decent throughout the season, scoring 23 touchdowns for 2860 passing yards in 14 games. Garrett might be excited to know that he has been sacked 5 times in the last two games, meaning he has a golden chance to break the record.
