Myles Garrett closes Cleveland chapter with $2.1 million decision

After living in Cleveland for eight long years, defensive end Myles Garrett has found a new home in Los Angeles. The former Cleveland Browns player is bidding his last goodbye by putting his home in the city up for sale.

“The home in the Hidden Lakes of Sharon community is listed at $2.1 million,” Kalan Hooks of ESPN reported on July 24.

Garrett is the reigning and two-time Defensive Player of the Year who was traded to the Los Angeles Rams this June. In exchange, the Browns received Jared Verse, the 2024 Defensive Rookie Player of the Year.

The Browns picked 30-year-old Garrett in 2017 as the first overall pick. The property he put up for sale was built in 2018. It witnessed him emerge as one of the best players not just in the Browns’ history but in the NFL’s.

This house comes “with five bedrooms and six bathrooms and measures 2 acres with 4,300 square feet of living space,” as reported by ESPN.

The two-story foyer includes two staircases — one serving the main foyer, the other the kitchen. According to the report, the kitchen features “premium” appliances, an “oversized” center countertop, custom cabinets, and a walk-in pantry.

The pantry connects to the house’s living space. The property features a fully equipped gym and a home theater, with outdoor features like a built-in grill and fire pit.

A three-car garage and another separate four-car garage on the upper level accompany the house. When Garrett asked for a trade in the 2025 offseason, he wrote that his goals were bigger than what the Browns had let him become.

“While I've loved calling this city my home, my desire to win and compete on the biggest stages won't allow me to be complacent,” Garrett wrote in his 2025 open letter. “The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it has always been to compete for and win a Super Bowl.”

Now that Garrett is a part of the Rams, led by reigning MVP Matthew Stafford, the record-setting DE is ready to take on the 2025 champions first.

Now that Myles Garrett has joined the NFC West, he is ready to take on the division leader, the Seattle Seahawks, and take their place.

“I want the champs,” NFL on FOX reporter Eric Williams posted on X. “They won it all, and I’ve got to see what that’s about. They feel like they’ve got the pieces to run it back, and I feel like we’ve got the pieces to take over.”

Last season, he racked up 23 sacks, the most by a player in a season. With him, the Cleveland Browns’ defense ranked as the fourth-best total defense. They allowed 283.6 total yards per game.

The Seahawks were sixth-best with 285.9 yards allowed per game. Garrett’s declaration is certainly a reason for the reigning champions to worry. This season, the conference promises a good tug between these two teams as Garrett settles into his new home.
