Myles Garrett Cleared From Injury Report, Ready to Chase Sack Record vs. Bengals
Myles Garrett wants that sack record, injury or not. On Thursday, the defensive end was added to the Browns’ injury report because of a hip issue. After practicing in a limited capacity on Thursday and Friday, Garrett has indicated he will not sit out during their season’s final matchup against the Bengals.
This Sunday will be Garrett’s last chance to match or surpass the NFL record for most sacks by a player in a season. At 22 sacks, he needs to score half to share the record with Michael Strahan and T.J Watt.
This season, Garrett is leading the league with 32 tackles for loss. In a dull and disappointing season, the Browns have depended on their star player to make plays and put forth a strong defense, especially given the state of the offense and a roster marred with injured players.

Who Are the Other Injured Players?
Though Garrett is cleared to play, he will do so without rookie linebacker Carson Schwesinger and tight end Harold Fannin Jr.
Schwesinger, a 22-year-old, is up as a contestant for defensive rookie of the year, having recorded 156 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and two interceptions this season. Meanwhile, Fannin Jr. has recorded six touchdowns for 731 yards.
Tight end David Njoku has been ruled out with a season-ending knee injury, and linebacker Winston Reid has issues with his back. Meanwhile, Cornerback Myles Harden, guard Teven Jenkins, and center Kingsley Eguakun are under the questionable side of the injury report.
Garrett has mostly depended on himself against game plans specifically targeting him this season. In Week 17 against the Steelers, the Browns unexpectedly won 6-13. Garrett believed they could defeat the team solely because the Steelers were focused on him and his sack record aspirations.
“They were more worried about keeping me away from Aaron than getting the win. That’s what came back to bite them,” Garrett said in a post-game press conference.
And now everybody is waiting to see if Garrett can clinch history. Although he has struggled to sack quarterbacks, Garrett neither felt pressured nor insecure.
In Week 15, after sacking Caleb Williams of the Bears, he stated that the record “was always in reach.” Now, he has only one game left to prove it.
What do you think? So close to making history, can he do it?
