Micah Parsons Pokes Fun at CBS Broadcasters Over Super Bowl Coverage

We’re halfway through the Super Bowl, and there’s one person catching a lot of flak. We’re not talking about Drake Maye, but a commentator, Cris Collinsworth. And Packers star Micah Parsons joined in the debate on X.

"Commentary of this game is hilarious!! I think everyone but them knew this would be defensive game!"

While Parsons did not specify anybody, he could have been addressing Cris Collinsworth. The former Cincinnati Bengals receiver turned commentator landed in hot water for ‘stating the obvious’ about the game being a defensive affair.

At one point, Collinsworth even stated, “I think they [Patriots] are playing this game a little bit like they did Denver a week ago in the snowstorm, with this defense from Seattle having the same impact as the snow.”

Especially since the Seahawks’ defense has been one of the best in the league. So far this season, the Seahawks have produced pressure on 38.1 percent of their opponents’ pass plays.

And it’s showing up at the Super Bowl. Drake Maye has taken the brunt of the damage here, with 3 sacks in the first half. They’ve kept him contained to just 48 yards in a single game.

Moreover, just a month ago, Collinsworth came under even more fire for his commentary at the Chargers-Patriots game.

However, It's Not Just the Seahawks Defense Collinsworth Talked About This Time

And at the same time, the Patriots' defense hasn’t been very sloppy either. Sam Darnold hasn’t been able to post massive numbers.

But even that wasn’t a surprise, considering the Patriots were only two spots behind the Seahawks when it came to the passing yards conceded.

That’s why fans weren’t happy when Collinsworth praised the defense for both teams. “We’re seeing right now both offensive play callers understanding real estate is going to be tough to buy out here (Sunday night) and they are willing to run the ball on third-and-long just to get a field goal kicker out there.”

The Seahawks are still leading 19-7, a game dubbed by the commentators as the “worst performance by the offense.” Whether the Patriots pull a stunning turnaround in the second half is left to be seen.
