Deshaun Watson heads into the 2026 in a tough spot. Despite being named QB1, fans don't believe in him and he hasn't played in a competitive game in over a year. Watson's comments about the fanbase hasn't helped and has only added fuel to the fire among the fanbase.

Watson won the QB1 battle with Shedeur Sanders but his pre-season performances have only raised more questions instead of reassuring the fanbase.

Green Bay Packers star Micah Parsons recently addressed Watson's comeback on his podcast and tipped Watson as a contender for the Comeback Player of the Year award. Parsons blamed injuries for Watson's predicament before praising him for his toughness:

"I respect Deshaun. I thought when we played him, I thought he was a great quarterback too. He's tough as hell. My fear for him is if he doesn't perform, will he get another opportunity again? That's what I'm scared of. He's a quarterback. Can we even name a run of injuries that's been this bad? I actually respect that, and they have enough [for Watson to win Comeback Player of the Year]." Deshaun Watson will start week 1 for the Browns as they go on the road to face the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags made the playoffs last year and it's a tough start to the year in what's an otherwise easier schedule.

Reports suggest that Watson could get between 4 to 6 games to still prove he can be a starting QB in the NFL. If Watson falters, Shedeur Sanders will be waiting in the wings for his shot.
