Matthew Stafford’s Message to Cooper Kupp Revealed After Ex-Teammate Robs Him of Super Bowl Dreams
After the Los Angeles Rams lost the NFC Championship to the Seattle Seahawks, Matthew Stafford got busy searching for his former Rams teammate Cooper Kupp.
NFL Spotlight host Ari Meirov posted a video on X that showed Stafford searching for Kupp all over the field. He even asked people, "Where's 10?" before finally spotting him. The official NFL page revealed exactly what the veteran QB told Kupp.
“Quit making me look for you so long. Go win your d*** Super Bowl, kid,” Stafford cheered him on. Kupp replied: “Man, I love you, man.”
Kupp was instrumental in the Seahawks' division championship victory. Sam Darnold threw a 13-yard pass to the wide receiver with 04:52 on the clock, extending the Seahawks lead to 31-20.

The Seahawks spent the remaining time defending their score and robbed Stafford’s second chance at the Super Bowl. However, it's not surprising that Stafford personally congratulated Kupp and wished him luck.
Between 2017 and 2024, Kupp was Stafford’s primary target for receptions. In the 48 games he played, Kupp had 341 catches, scoring 34 touchdowns for 4,159 yards.
Matthew Stafford spoke about his friendship with Cooper Kupp
The Rams’ decision to release Kupp in 2024 halted their successful partnership. In his appearance on the Travis and Jason Kelce podcast, New Heights Stafford shared that accepting management’s decision over Kupp’s trade was difficult.
He revealed Kupp’s importance in his career and how his departure affected the locker room.
“It’s tough. Especially for a guy that’s meant so much for me in my career and who helped me get in with the Rams. He was such a huge part of that for me,” Stafford explained on the March 12, 2025, episode.
“I’ve spent probably more time with him as a teammate than really any other teammate in my career.”
Kupp and Stafford were close off-field, too. In 2021, the duo had even started a ‘Breakfast Club,’ where they broke down films before games.
The Seahawks take on the Patriots for the Lombardi Trophy on February 9. Who do you think will win this Super Bowl? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
