Massive Update Over Matthew Stafford's Future as NFL Analyst Leaks 2026 Plans
Matthew Stafford will be 38 this year, and speculation about his retirement is making rounds. However, Insider Ian Rapoport has new details on Matthew Stafford's future, adding a new layer to the discussion.
On NFL GameDay Morning, insider Ian Rapoport revealed what Stafford has told those closest to him.
"Of course, given his age, you have to wonder what comes next for Matthew Stafford? Stafford has told people close to him that he does believe he has some good football left," said Rapoport.
This comes a few weeks after Stafford joined “The Rich Eisen Show” and was asked whether retirement was on his mind.
He said, "You gotta finish out a season and see where it takes you. I am enjoying every moment I have right now. If I end the year healthy, hypothetically, and all those kinda of things. Sure, I would surely entertain coming back and playing some more. We'll see how it goes.”
Stafford is already enjoying the best season of his career. In 17 regular-season games, the 37-year-old scored 46 touchdowns and threw for 4707 yards. He could easily cross the 5000-yard and 50+ TD mark this season.
Last time Matthew Stafford played Seattle
This season, Matthew Stafford has collided with the divisional rivals twice.
Although the Rams lost one of those two games, his performance was incredible. In their 21-19 win over the Seahawks in Week 11, the 37-year-old veteran bagged 2 touchdowns for 130 passing yards. In the low-scoring affair, he didn't throw a single interception and avoided getting sacked.
In the later stages of the regular season, both teams met again. During that memorable clash, Stafford notched 3 touchdowns for 457 passing yards. Unfortunately, they lost that game by a point in overtime.
Will Matthew Stafford replicate the same magic against the Seahawks, this time in the playoffs? And what about the Super Bowl? Although the Rams hinted at a return in his 18th season, things might look different if the Rams win the Super Bowl this year.
