Ravens fans can finally relax. After months of rumors and questions about his future, their star Tight End is staying in Baltimore. The star tight end has signed a new contract extension that keeps him with the AFC North for years to come.

The new deal is worth three years and $39.3 million, including $26 million guaranteed, according to NFL Network Insider Mike Garafolo. The Ravens confirmed the news right after the report came out, making it official that Andrews isn’t going anywhere.

A New Beginning With the Baltimore Ravens

Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta shared his excitement in a statement. “We are excited and proud to announce a three-year contract extension with Mark Andrews,” DeCosta said. Andrews, who was in the last year of a four-year, $56 million contract that began in 2021, earned this deal through years of hard work and loyalty.

“Mark is an all-time Raven a top competitor and Pro Bowl tight end who is also a big part of our Baltimore community.” DeCosta added in his statement. Many thought he could be traded or released to save money because his name popped up in trade rumors several times, especially early this season when the team was struggling. However, the Ravens clearly knew his value and made sure to keep him home in Baltimore.

In eight seasons, he has 473 catches, 5,862 yards, and 56 touchdowns, with three Pro Bowl selections and one All-Pro honor. Those numbers show why he’s already one of the greatest players in team history.

Just a few weeks ago, in Week 11, Andrews became the Ravens’ all-time leader in receptions. That moment made it clear how special he is to the franchise. Now, instead of facing an uncertain offseason, he gets to stay with the team he’s helped lead since his rookie year.

This is also good news for Quarterback Lamar Jackson. The two have had a strong connection since they both entered the league in 2018. Their chemistry has been the backbone of Baltimore’s passing game for years.
