"Let My Teammates Down": Josh Allen In Tears After Bills' Failure
You could feel the pain in Josh Allen's voice. As the team lost out on another Super Bowl opportunity, Allen showed a moment of vulnerability.
After they crashed out with a 33-30 overtime loss against the Denver Broncos, the 2024 MVP appeared in tears at the post-game interview.
"I let my teammates down tonight. ... It's been a long season. Hate how it ended. It is gonna stick with me for a long time. Can't win with 5 turnovers.”
Allen spearheaded the Bills' charge in the second half of the game. He threw for 283 passing yards and scored 3 touchdowns. However, it was far from his best performance. We've seen him dismantle teams like the Patriots with 300+ yards and five touchdowns. This time, multiple sacks, interceptions, and fumbles derailed the Bills' momentum, and Denver took advantage of it.
The Broncos scored a total of 13 points due to the 29-year-old’s mistakes. He fumbled the ball twice in the second quarter and conceded another interception and a fumble in the next. However, his interception in overtime cost the Bills, as the Broncos won the game by converting the field goal.
With the loss against Denver, Allen has now joined the legends like Aaron Rodgers and Peyton Manning with three overtime postseason losses.
Is The 4th Quarter a Big Problem for The Bills in The Playoffs?
Starting with the most recent loss to Denver, the Bills were in the lead with 7 minutes to go in the final quarter. Bo Nix not only took the game to overtime but won the game thanks to Allen’s costly interception.
In the last couple of seasons, Buffalo blew the lead against the Chiefs twice in the fourth quarter. In the 2023 season, Cincinnati defeated the Bills 27-10. Kansas City hurt them again in the 2022 season, with them once again blowing the lead in the last quarter.
With their seventh consecutive failed attempt to clinch the Super Bowl, should the Bills continue with McDermott? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
