Lamar Jackson Once Won Hearts With a Powerful Message to a Young Fan Fighting Cancer
The Baltimore Ravens’ QB Lamar Jackson has already proved his prowess on the field. However, he also won a lot of fans’ hearts after his heartwarming gesture towards a young fan.
The two-time NFL MVP sent a message to 15-year-old Isiaah Strong, who was battling neuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer.
“Isaiah, it's your guy Lamar Jackson here. I just want to let you know my thoughts and prayers go out to you, man. Keep God first, keep battling.”
However, this was not the first time Jackson had helped the Ravens fans and the Baltimore community. The 29-year-old QB has always made valuable donations to Blessings in a Backpack. It’s a non-profit organization that fills backpacks full of food for needy children.
In January 2018, Jackson donated $25000 to Blessings in a Backpack for them to work in Louisville, where he played college football. It was enough to feed 250 kids for an entire school year.
The famous Bills Mafia also jumped in to support the 29-year-old’s initiative when he suffered a concussion in 2021. They encouraged fans to donate $8, his jersey number, to help the cause, and it ended up generating over $500,000 for the organization.
Yet, philanthropy aside, Jackson has a new partnership.
Lamar Jackson gets a new OC
After the Ravens missed the playoffs this season, they decided to let OC Todd Monken go, who had turned Baltimore's offense into one of the best for multiple seasons.
However, after his departure, the Ravens had to find a head coach who complements Lamar Jackson well. Just a few days ago, they announced Declan Doyle as their new offensive coordinator.
Doyle is the youngest OC in the NFL, and being 29 years old, he's the same age as Jackson. Despite the age factor, the Iowa native doesn't see any way it was going to affect him.
"The year I was born doesn’t really determine how well I can do this job... This is going to be my 10th year coaching, so I don’t really feel very 'young' in it."
It will certainly be interesting to see how Jackson performs under Doyle. Ravens fans, do you think he is the right man for the job? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
