The Browns’ rookie QB, Shedeur Sanders, has become quite a household name among NFL fans. Being the son of Deion “Prime Time” Sanders comes with a lot of fame and expectations. 

One of the biggest examples of his rising popularity was displayed in a video from a Browns fan. In that video, a small child was seen doing Sanders’ celebration after getting his jersey as a Christmas gift. 

Sanders has been a revelation for Cleveland this season after starting QB Dillon Gabriel’s unfortunate injury. So far, he has played 6 games and has scored 6 touchdowns for 1103 yards. The 23-year-old has also shown some potential in his ground game, scoring a rushing touchdown for 123 yards. 

His best performance came against the Titans in Week 12, where he threw for 364 passing yards and scored 3 TDs. Unfortunately, the Browns lost that match 31-29. Despite some inspiring outings, Cleveland’s record is 1-5 with Sanders as the starting QB. 

With two games remaining this season, and the Browns ‌already out of ‌playoff contention, head coach Kevin Stefanski has shown ‌trust in him. Whether the 23-year-old becomes the franchise QB for the next season will depend on how he performs against the Steelers and the Bengals.  

Shedeur Sanders looks ready to go against Pittsburgh 

When the Browns met the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier in the season, Shedeur Sanders was just a backup quarterback. However, now things have changed, as he will start against them in Cleveland’s penultimate game. 

During the press conference, the rookie QB talked about his preparation for the game. It’s safe to say that he was in full confidence for his first start against the AFC North leaders. 

“I would say um week by week getting more game play helps me more than that week in particular,” Sanders said. “Because like I said, every week is a new week and you have to focus on the next opponent. So you can look at past notes and things, like that’s okay, but I think having a fresh set of eyes is always the best.”

The Browns have been really poor in divisional games, losing four out of four games so far. They suffered a heavy loss against the Steelers in their first meeting in Week 6, where they lost 23-9.
