Patriots improved to 11-2, and extended their win streak to 10 games, the longest active streak in the league after thier 33-15 victory over the New York Giants. The game revealed a new side of the Patriots, who dominated in all three aspects and seemed extra aggressive in the defense. For the Giants, the loss dropped them to 2-11, and there are some interesting observations for them as well.

Jaxon Dart is not protecting himself 

During the New York Giants’ Week 10 game against the Chicago Bears on November 9, Dart suffered a concussion after a hard hit and a fall that caused his head to strike the ground. He entered the league’s concussion protocol and missed at least the next two games. This was reportedly the fourth time in 2025 (including preseason) that Dart has been evaluated for a head injury, and yet the rookie QB is not protecting himself. 

In the game against the Patriots, his tightrope scramble on second-and-13 left him upright and exposed to a heavy hit from Christian Elliss near the sideline. Even before that, the Giants QB allowed a defender upper-body contact after floating around a collapsing pocket in an attempt to buy time. The fearless attitude is great, but a little more caution will only benefit him and the team. 

The Patriots are checking all the boxes 

Be it the offense, defense, or special teams, the Patriots are leaving no box unchecked. Steering the tone early, they scored 10 points through a 12-play scoring drive that ended in a field goal and a 94-yard punt return touchdown from Marcus Jones.

They extended their lead to 20 points at 27-7 after a fumble forced by their kickoff unit sent the ball deep in the Giants’ territory, leading to another field goal. Drake Maye completed 24 of 31 passes for 282 yards, connecting for two touchdown passes. 

Jaxon Dart and Co. had little space with the Patriots’ top-notch defense. They forced a three-and-out on the Giants’ opening drive and held them to only 239 total yards of offense and a low third-down conversion rate. Two turnovers on downs and four punts before the Giants’ last-ditch drive also shut down New York’s offense. 

Marcus Jones proved how important he is 

Jones has been good this season with 1.0 sack, 6 tackles for loss, 3 interceptions, 34 tackles, 11 passes defended, and 1 touchdown across 13 games and ranks 14th in coverage grade among all cornerbacks, per Pro Football Focus.

But the stats don’t do justice to how important he is to the team, and he just proved that in the MNF when his 94-yard punt return touchdown gave the Patriots an early 10-0 lead. While he played a key role on defense for the AFC East-leading Patriots, Jones might just end up with a Pro Bowl nod and even earn his second All-Pro selection, too.

Abdul Carter not being on the field might have harmed the defense 

Abdul Carter didn’t play in the first quarter because of a coach’s decision, which likely means he was being disciplined for something that happened before the game. It was the second time in three weeks he started on the bench, showing he might still be adjusting to the responsibilities of being an NFL rookie.

As a result, the Patriots quickly took control, jumping to a big 30-7 lead by halftime. New York didn’t start playing better until the fourth quarter, but by then, they were already down by three scores and had no real chance of coming back against a strong 10-win Patriots team.

The Patriots were Physical 

The Patriots came out with a point to prove and played one of their most physical games of the season. Christian Elliss’ inaugurated with a big shot on Jaxson Dart, then with a huge tackle on Gunner Olszewski that caused a fumble and helped extend their lead, walking out of the game with 10 total tackles (4 solo + 6 assists), while the team itself recorded 66.

Even though the Patriots’ offensive line wasn’t at full strength, they still dominated up front and helped the run game top 100 yards, something they haven’t done consistently this year.
