Kevin Stefanski's Final Message for Myles Garrett, Last Moments as Browns HC Revealed

Kevin Stefanski coached Myles Garrett one last time in the same game that Garrett became the player with the most sacks in a season. What were the HC's parting words?

After the game, Stefanski talked about the Browns legend breaking that record and how he felt about it in the post-game press conference.

"For Myles to get it the way he got it in a really meaningful moment of the game, and it came in a win. That's history. He's the sack king. That's unbelievable. They have been playing this game for a long time, and for him to go get that in the circumstances with the degree of difficulty in which he got it this season is unbelievable."

Garret achieved the record (23 sacks) in 17 games, having played 437 snaps and had a 5.3 rate as compared to T.J. Watts, who held the previous record in 15 games, 616 snaps, and 3.6 rate. Garrett also had a double-team rate of 57%.

Stefanski also noted, "He's the Defensive Player of the Year. You could make him the MVP if I had a vote. And I think the reaction of his teammates is genuine. That's real. These guys care about each other." And it wasn't only him from the staff praising the DE.

"Every game I'm in awe of him, of what he can do and how special he is, but this year it's definitely been special..."I'm happy for him, not just because of the person he is, but just by the way he works, "defensive line coach Jacques Cesaire said. Even Patrick Mahomes and LeBron James took to X to congratulate him.

What did Myles Garrett think of Kevin Stefanski getting fired?

There has been no statement from Garrett over this since the news came out. Though the speculations were there of the HC being fired, and before the last game, reporters had asked the Browns DE about Stefanski returning as head coach.

"I want things to be successful, however that looks," Garrett said. He also add there have been “more downs than ups” in six seasons with Stefanski because the team has only advanced to the postseason twice.

In the end, Garret concluded that he is committed to winning. “As long as the team and organization are doing so and committed to that same thing, I’m all on board. If we’re thinking anything other than winning — tanking or rebuilding — that’s not me.”
