Shedeur Sanders has officially received the QB1 role for the remainder of the season, and many found themselves wondering, was it a choice that came too late?

Recently, a reporter asked the Cleveland Browns’ head coach Kevin Stefanski the same question. Stefanski's response, has left many feeling like he avoided the question.

"Yeah, I’m not going to get into those types of things. I am obviously focused on what’s in front of us."

Despite a rough beginning to his NFL career against the Ravens, Shedeur Sanders quickly became familiar with the playbook, so much so that he managed four touchdowns last weekend against the Tennessee Titans.

Could Sanders have brought out similar results? The Browns are at 3-10 this season, but we could very well have a 3-14 repeat from 2024.

It's not the first time Stefanski did not make a comment about starting Sanders. After his strong start against the Raiders, Kevin Stefanski didn't want to say his spot in the following week was guaranteed.

In the last game, Kevin Stefanski chose to take Shedeur Sanders out right before running the Wildcat play for the potentially-game tying points.

However, it failed miserably, and the Cleveland Browns lost against one of the worst teams this season. Reporters asked Sanders about it after the game, and Shedeur's response appeared to be in solidarity with his coach.

"If I’m out there any play, I wish I would always have the ball in my hand. But that’s not what football is…We practice for situations, we do everything, and if they knew it would pan out like that, I don’t think they would’ve did it. I don’t think in any situation, if we feel like something’s not going to be as successful and intentionally call it and just be surprised if it don’t work," he responded.
