Kevin Stefanski Rallies Behind Quinshon Judkins' Comeback Despite Season-Ending Injury
The Cleveland Browns lost one of their most important stars, Quinshon Judkins, to an injury for the remainder of the season.
Head Coach Kevin Stefanski revealed that the rookie running back dislocated his ankle and fractured his fibula in Sunday’s 23-20 loss to the Bills. He expressed disappointment about his injury and displayed trust in him to be back and running soon.
“Yeah Q’s been incredible. Great teammate, runs hard, cares about this game, cares about right things. So, I’m disappointed for him, he’s disappointed, but he’s not somebody that I worry about. He’ll bounce back.”
The unfortunate injury meant the end of Judkins’ incredible first season. He was Cleveland’s lead rusher, scoring 7 touchdowns for 827 yards on 230 carries in 14 games played this season. Although he didn’t register any receiving scores, he had 171 yards.
In the 23-20 loss against the Bills, he rushed eight times for 22 yards and caught five passes for a game-high 29 yards before exiting the game.
The incident happened while he attempted to make a catch in the backfield when Bills linebacker Matt Milano hit him low. Fortunately, the replacements did a decent job for the rest of the game.
Quinshon Judkins’ mother speaks about his injury
The news of Quinshon Judkins’ injury has affected his mother, Teva Judkins. She took to X and sent a message to all the fans.
She thanked her family, friends, and fans for all the well-wishes and support. Teva also talked about how hard it was for her as a football parent not be prepared for an injury like this.
“As I watched him lie on the ground, my heart stopped… as football moms, we always know that there is a possibility of an injury but when it actually happens, you are not prepared for the flood of emotions you feel.”
Teva was hopeful that her son would recover and be back on the field as soon as possible. “This too shall pass and Q will be back out there busting into the end zone soon Thank you all for your phone calls, text, prayers, well wishes, and support, it means a lot.”
Browns’ QB Shedeur Sanders also wished him a healthy recovery. He also talked about how he was going to be a big miss for the team.
