Kevin Stefanski and the Cleveland Browns will look forward to finishing their season on a high note, with the next stop being the Pittsburgh Steelers. 

While veteran QB Aaron Rodgers and RB Jaylen Warren were the obvious threats, Cleveland’s head coach was severely impressed by Pittsburgh’s wide receiver, Darnell Washington. 

In the press conference ahead of their game, Stefanski praised his strength and was impressed with his yard-after-catch ability. “This is a very powerful player. And I think the thing that most impressive is the YAC, the ability with the ball in his hand. He’s tough to bring down. He’s got good ball skills,” he said. 

Washington has lived up to the moniker of the “one man wreaking crew”, receiving for 349 yards and logging a touchdown in the tough 33-31 loss against the Bengals in Week 7.

Although he did have a fumble and conceded a penalty against the Lions, he will look to bounce back this week against the Browns. 

Despite some not-so-astonishing numbers, Washington managed to grab the attention of Stefanski. The Browns' coach must have a plan to stop Washington from getting more yards after the reception.

It’ll be interesting to see whether Stefanski and his men stop the explosive tight end or not. 

Kevin Stefanski might be coaching his last home game

Although Kevin Stefanski has been the coach of the year twice, the past two seasons with the Browns haven’t been great at all. Similar to the 2024 season, Cleveland sits 4th in the AFC North division with a poor 3-12 record. 

With the danger of losing his job looming over him, he might be coaching his last home game against the Steelers. Out of the three matches they have won this season, Cleveland has won two of them at home.

Onus will be on Stefanski and his men to deliver at their home against the AFC North leaders. 

Talking about the leaders, despite being on top of the division, Pittsburgh still hasn’t clinched its playoff spot. With the Baltimore Ravens winning against the Packers, the division title fight is still on.

If the Browns manage to defeat Aaron Rodgers and company, the Ravens have a chance to take that last playoff spot. 

So much depends on the game between Cleveland and Pittsburgh. Will the HC - QB pairing of Stefanski and Shedeur Sanders manage to work their magic and scrap out a victory? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
