Kevin Stefanski Gets Honest Over Shedeur Sanders' Performance Following Injury Scare

The Cleveland Browns’ rookie QB, Shedeur Sanders, had a tough outing against the Bills. Despite suffering a finger injury earlier in the game, he came back to display the true fighting spirit.
In the post-game press conference, head coach Kevin Stefanski praised Sanders’ performance. He was impressed by the resilience he showed despite the injury and the rushing game.
“I thought he made some unbelievable plays with his feet today, which I thought going into the game that may be the case,” he said. “He battled like he does. He'll fight through injuries. Little finger injury's not going to keep him out of there.”
In his fifth NFL start, Sanders completed 20 of 29 passes for 157 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. Also ran for 49 yards on four carries. Unfortunately, the Bills' defense sacked him in the last quarter, as he failed to force Cleveland towards a comeback.
Although the Browns fought well, the Bills won the game by 23-20, thanks to their RB James Cook’s rushing dominance. After suffering another loss, Stefanski’s team is now last in the AFC North division with a 3-12 record. With no improvement in the last two seasons, is Stefanski’s time as the Browns’ head coach over? Only time will tell.
Kevin Stefanski’s future hangs in the balance
The Browns’ head coach, Kevin Stefanski’s future as the HC will depend on how the two remaining games against the Steelers and Bengals will go.
He has a lot of credit in his account for being the Coach of the Year twice. However, his horrible 6-25 record in the past 2 seasons with the Browns doesn’t provide any confidence at all. As per Ian Rapport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, everything is under evaluation regarding Stefanski’s job.
“No decisions have been made on the future of Kevin Stefanski, the two-time NFL Coach of the Year. The Browns know Stefanski can coach, and he has maintained a consistent approach amid the adversity of a transition year with a young roster.”
However, they also informed that if the Browns’ owner, Jimmy Haslam, decides to move on, Stefanski wouldn’t have a problem finding another job. Has he done enough to stay as Cleveland’s head coach for another season? Let us know in the comments!
