Kevin Stefanski Gets Honest Over Shedeur Sanders' Future After Horrible Bears Outing
After the historic game against the Titans, Shedeur Sanders was not up to the mark in week 15.
After the game, Kevin Stefanski talked about what the future holds for Sanders. Spoiler alert: he is safe, Stefanski had nothing but praise for him.
“I’m obviously thinking about just this game and those types of things. He’s a young player who is making progress, and I see it in games. I get to see it in practice. There’s going to be ups and downs to young players, particularly, the quarterback position.”
Sanders recorded just 18-of-35 for 177 yards, zero touchdowns, and three interceptions. He was sacked 5 times. This was his worst performance of the season, if we talk about interceptions. But Stefanski defended all the turnovers, saying the Bears' defense is known for it.
Talking about how he mentors his quarterback, he also praised Sanders for his performance throughout the season.
"And he's fighting like crazy to try to help us win. Obviously, we came up short, all of us, we came up short. So you learn from it, and you apply those lessons in the future," he said.
Shedeur Sanders reflects on his future
In the post-game press conference, a reporter told Sanders that Stefanski has defended him and also that if it helps him to know that his job is secured. The QB answered by saying that there is no job guarantee in this league.
He said, "You know what league we in? Yeah, you can lose your job at any point in time. So you don't play with fear. When you live and play in fear, then never be yourself. So I don't play or live in fear. Whatever situation I'm in, I'm in. Whatever happens, it happens. But I live each moment and try to live each day to the fullest. So never live in worry or fear."
What's your thought? Sanders' position looks sorted for this season, but will he be the QB1 for the Browns in the 2026 season?
