Shedeur Sanders has been developing in good ways lately. From a 25% completion rate to no game with less than 50%, he has shown growth, and Kevin Stefanski has credited surprising figures.

Reporters asked Stefanski how important Deshaun Watson has been in the development of young quarterbacks. Replying to that, the Browns HC praised Watson and a few other veterans, too.

”Yeah, I, I'd give Deshaun a lot of credit. I give Bailey Zappe a lot of credit. Uh, for, I think there's, there's always, uh, value when you get reinforced coaching points from your peers and, and from your teammates. And, uh, I think, you know, Tommy and, and must do a great job in that room. But it doesn't hurt to have guys that have started games in this league to answer questions and to provide experiences to our young players.”

Stefanski’s words cannot be truer. While Watson might not have been great for the Browns, he still has the experience of 7 years and 3 Pro Bowls, which can be very important for a rookie.

Other than him, the Browns also have Bailey Zappe in the locker room, who has thrown for 2,223 yards and 12 touchdowns in 4 seasons. His experience can also be very important for rookies.

Kevin Stefanski has an update on Deshaun Watson

In the same press conference, another reporter asked the Browns HC about how Watson is doing as compared to last week. The veteran QB had returned to practice last week after a year after injuring his Achilles twice in the past year.

Answering that, Stefanski said, “Uh, just a continued, um, progression for him physically, mentally, uh, I think he did a nice job, uh, with what he, what we asked him to do.” While it's not a major update, his words do hint at Watson pushing himself more physically than the week prior.

Will he play this season? Highly unlikely. Shedeur Sanders is doing well, and the team wouldn't risk bringing someone who has not played football in over a year. What do you think?
