KC Conception Gets Honest Over Injury Concerns During Browns’ Training Camp
The Cleveland Browns added KC Concepcion to their wide receiver room, when they drafted him with the 24th overall pick in this year's draft. However, his knee scope operation held in March is raising concerns regarding his fitness.
While his surgery wasn't major, it did require him to rehab his injury. KC also took part in the Browns' rookie minicamp held this weekend and seemed in good spirits.
"I feel good, first time out here, being around the guys, it feels great. It felt good; I feel amazing. I am 100%. I feel ready to play, honestly," Concepcion said.

After the minicamp, Todd Monken revealed he was closely monitoring the matter. He expects Concepcion to attend the offseason practice without any issues.
"We monitored him a little bit. But he was cleared; he was good to go. Knee looks great," Monken said. "We just want to make sure we get through this weekend and the first week so when the other guys get back, we’ll be able to go like we are today and see what we’ve got."
The Browns realize Concepcion's importance in this team and the WR room. After a Pro Bowl season in 2024, Jerry Jeudy's production dropped last season. He recorded 50 receptions for 602 yards and two touchdowns.
The unstable quarterback room last season has also played a hand in Jeudy's inconsistencies. The Browns started with Joe Flacco, switched to Dillon Gabriel and ended the season with Shedeur Sanders.
While Concepcion hopes to change the current scenario of the team, he will be paired with Browns' second-round pick Denzel Boston.
Concepcion And Boston Begin Work For Cleveland
After a 5-12 record last season, the Browns are finding ways to rectify their offense. Todd Monken plans to move his WR rookie recruits, KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston, to different wide receiver slots.
Addressing the media post the rookie minicamp, Monken discussed how the rookie duo would need to 'earn' their spots.
“I think you’re better off at most putting them at two spots. If you can keep them at one spot, that helps their development. But I don’t think they can get away with that; they’re gonna have to learn at least a couple of spots," Monken said.
Both are expected to play immediate roles in the upcoming season. Concepcion is projected to be a dynamic playmaker and Boston as a big-bodied red-zone threat.
Concepcion thrives on big-play ability and versatility. On the other hand, Boston uses his athletic frame to impose himself.
According to NFL reporter Brent Sobleski, he fits right in with Concepcion.
"The combination of Concepcion and Jerry Jeudy will open up the field as well and make life easier on Boston, as the more physical option," Sobleski adds.
The work has begun. Cleveland is gearing up with new talent, and now only time will tell if they will succeed.
