Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy has shut down claims that he chose Deshaun Watson over Shedeur Sanders after a viral TikTok Live sparked controversy. But while he cleared the air, many Browns fans may not appreciate what he had to say.

“I don’t speak on decisions that aren’t mine to make. I support my teammates/Brothers, I do my job, and control what I can control. Let’s stop creating narrative that aren’t there for likes and clicks. I b** this won’t go viral because it’s too positive/real for y’all,” wrote Jerry Jeudy on his X handle.

The fiasco started when Jeudy was on a TikTok Live and was asked who he believed would be the Browns' starting quarterback. In response, the Browns wide receiver held up four fingers, which the fans took as a nod to Watson, who wears the No. 4 jersey.

Jeudy posted on X to clarify the situation, pointing out that the video was edited with a jump cut between the question being shown and him holding up his fingers.

"Y'all cut the clip perfectly for that narrative," Jeudy also posted to X.

The wide receiver reiterated that he is not the one making the decisions, and whoever it is, he has the utmost trust in his teammates to support him.

However, it's worth noting that Watson has played just 19 of 68 games since joining the Browns, while Sanders has appeared in only eight games.

As a result, both quarterbacks have had a similarly limited opportunity to develop chemistry with the wide receiver.

On top of that, choosing one over the other would certainly raise some red flags within the camp as well. So, as the edited clip circulated online, fans didn't seem to agree with Jeudy's neutral stance.

Fans slam Jerry Jeudy for not picking a side

While Jerry Jeudy continues to back both of his teammates, fans aren't buying his answer. One fan even shut down the debate, telling the wide receiver to focus on his own job.

“Man, just catch the ball when Shedeur passes it to you. That's all we need from you,” said a fan.

Another fan joined in to say the same thing, slamming Jerry Jeudy and reminding him to do his job on the team.

“You just better catch that ball when the savior throws it your way,” One fan said.

One fan called him out, saying that he did it intentionally but backed off when he realized fans would record it.

“LOL you definitely meant to do that at the start of the video you answer the question and then about a second, and you realized you were gonna get clipped so you turned your hand around acting like you were throwing up fours,” a fan quipped.

Another comment brought more criticism for the wide receiver.

“Someone literally asked you who you wanted to be your QB and you said Watson lmao. Don’t try to play it differently… also catch the d*** ball, butterfingers.”

Lastly, one fan advised Jerry Jeudy not to focus on anything other than his gameplay.

“Just focus on not leading the league in drops again, how about that?”
