Josh Allen’s Teammate Defends Him as Bills QB Faces Massive Criticism for Horror Show Against Broncos

Josh Allen was in tears after a crushing playoff loss, blaming himself for the Bills' exit. But his teammates refused to let him take the fall.

The Bills' 30-33 loss to the Broncos will sting the team, and especially Allen, as their Super Bowl dreams once again ended in the playoffs. "I let my teammates down tonight," he said, crying. Though one of his best offenisve lineman, Dion Dawkins disagrees.

"He didn’t let us down," he said, and immediately broke down in tears after the reporters told him about Allen's statement. How did the Bills' QB perform in that game?

He completed 25 passes in 39 attempts for 283 yards with 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. While this may look somewhat good, he also lost two fumbles.

One of them was in the final seconds of the first half, which directly set up a Broncos field goal and swung the momentum.

Despite that, he was still good this season with a passer rating of 102.2 with 3,668 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. Dawkins was also one of his best protectors, allowing just six sacks and 33 total pressures across 957 offensive snaps in the 2025 season.

And the Bills' OL wasn't the only one with this sentiment. Buffalo's Wide Receiver, Brandin Cooks, was also very emotional after the game. Though he did not break down, one could see the tears in his eyes as he defended the Bills quarterback.

“He’s been carrying us all year. Somebody has to step up to be able to alleviate him. When you’re great, and you feel like you have to do so much, you have the opportunity to be able to force some of those things." Cooks said.

He called Allen the best quarterback in the league, stressing that the players around him need to step up so Allen doesn’t feel like he has to carry the team every week. Former Bills' HC Sean McDermott also backed the QB.

Sean McDermott Backed Josh Allen Before His Goodbye

The former Buffalo Bills QB was nothing but proud of his QB despite the playoff performance. He refrained from blaming him, even though Allen called it his fault in the press conference.

"No, it's not on him," McDermott said. "We had opportunities, all of us, and I'm extremely proud of him. He's a tremendous person, tremendous leader, tremendous quarterback."

Soon after this game, he was fired from the head coaching position. This brought an end to Josh Allen and McDermott's 8 years of partnership, which brought five straight AFC East championships and multiple playoff appearances to the Bills and the NFL MVP award to the QB.
