Josh Allen Makes Bold Bills Claim Ahead of Crucial Playoffs Clash

Despite multiple playoff heartbreaks, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills aren't going to give up.

Ahead of their Wildcard game against the Jaguars, a reporter asked Allen if that pressured him. The QB had one thing clear.

"I don't think so. I think we're taking it one game at a time. Um, you know, we're not focused on what's happened in the past, and we're not, you know, we're a completely different team than we were last year and the year before that and so on and so forth. So, um, again, our job is to play the Jacksonville Jaguars at 1:00 on Sunday, and that's what we're going to do."

They were knocked out in the Wild Card Round in 2019, reached the AFC Championship Game in 2020 and 2024–25. In 2021, 2022, and 2023, they were eliminated in the Divisional Round with multiple losses coming against the Kansas City Chiefs.

However, as Allen mentioned, the team is in a positive state. The Bills’ offense is powerful, with James Cook leading the NFL in rushing yards with 1,621 for the season. Josh Allen himself has rushed for 579 yards this season. He also has the most rushing TDs by a QB this season (14).

But the Jaguars have allowed about 85.6 rushing yards per game, the fewest in the NFL for the 2025 season.

So will Josh Allen and the Bills falter?

The last time they played there was in 2021, and they lost 6-9. Allen talked about that game at the press meet.

"Not too many people that were there then are there now? Except Josh Allen [Josh-Hines Allen]. You know, he got to me a couple of times that game. He's a fantastic football player. So, yeah, we're going to have our hands full with him."

He was talking about Josh Hines-Allen, who has had 28 solo tackles, 21 assists, and 8.0 sacks in 17 games this season. He might trouble the QB.

Allen also said, "They've got a lot of good players on that team...made some really good plays this year...played really good football. So, like I said, we're going to have our hands full."
