Josh Allen Left Fuming with Tre’Davious White After Major Flag Costs Super Bowl Dreams
Josh Allen is out of yet another playoff race. And this time, all he could do in the end was sit on the bench and watch his team make error after error.
The AFC Divisional game ended when the Broncos won 33-30. After a roughly equal game, they managed to get the winning score due to multiple penalties in overtime. One of them brought a reaction from Allen.
The yellow flag caused by cornerback Tre’Davious White in overtime was a major issue for the Bills. In overtime, both teams were tied and at sudden death. With less than six minutes on the clock, Bo Nix threw a deep pass to wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr., when White made a pass interference.
He collided with Mims and yanked at his arm before he could touch the ball, tripping him. White was immediately flagged, and Josh Allen was seen clutching his head in his hands, frustrated and disappointed at White’s ill-judged play.
Moreover, White was seen yelling at the refs over their call. He earned another penalty for unsportsmanlike behavior for slamming his helmet to the ground, angry over the referee’s decision.
With that, both penalties resulted in the ball being moved to the 5-yard line in favor of the Broncos, who scored a game-winning field goal.
And Josh Allen Had Struggles of His Own to Deal With
White's penalties compounded the team's struggles in a difficult game.
In the first half, linebacker Nik Bonitto and safety Devon Key successfully caused a forced fumble just before halftime. With a lead of 23-17, the Broncos kept pushing. They intercepted Allen twice and sacked him three times. He completed only 25 passes out of 39 for 283 yards.
Allen, too, was caught slamming his helmet, but on a bench on the sidelines. With this loss, the Bills are officially out of the playoffs. Last year, they crashed out of the conference championship. For three years before that, they could get past the Wildcard stage.
Do you think we will see the Bills reach the Super Bowl anytime soon? Let us know in the comments!
