Josh Allen Helps Buffalo Bills Break 33-Year-Old Jinx as Jaguars Suffer Heartbreak at Home

For the first time since January 17, 1993, the Buffalo Bills have won a playoff game on the road, ending a drought that began before quarterback Josh Allen was even born.
The Bills defeated the Jaguars at EverBank Stadium with a 27-24 score. Their quarterback fought through hits to lay hands on what the team had touched 33 years before.
Josh Allen completed 28 of 35 passes for 273 yards and a touchdown. As a dual-threat QB, he also recorded two rushing touchdowns. The 29-year-old recorded not a single turnover, and the Jaguars could only sack him once.
Playing through a right leg injury, he also took hits in the game. He was in the medical tent after Travon Walker and Josh Hines-Allen landed on his head, and his helmet came off in the first quarter. Soon after this, the Jags picked up the lead (7-3).
Then the Bills' QB scored on a 2-yard run with 5:37 left in the second quarter to give them. a 10-7 lead. Though he limped afterward, he was cleared to continue. Jacksonville made a comeback to make the score 17-13 in their favor.
But Josh Allen threw a 15‑yard touchdown pass to Dalton Kincaid with 8:56 remaining in the fourth quarter to bring the Bills back in the game. And yet again, the Jaguars made a comeback, scoring a touchdown with 4:03 remaining in the fourth quarter.
However, Allen was not in the mood to let this game slide. With 1:05 remaining, the 2024 MVP rushed for a one-yard touchdown to seal the victory.
Though Bigger Challenges Await Josh Allen & Co.
This year around, Josh Allen is the only QB from the modern-day football's big four. Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, and Patrick Mahomes have missed the playoffs, which makes the road a little bit easier for the Bills' QB.
They will now face the No. 1 Denver Broncos next weekend in the divisional round. This is the team that has allowed the second-lowest rushing yards (1,548) this season, and the Buffalo Bills have the most rushing yards by a team this season, with 2,714 yards.
Josh Allen has the most rushing yards and TDs by a quarterback this season, with 579 yards for 14 touchdowns. The Broncos' defense will be a tough matchup for the Bills.
