Joe Haden has a surprising pick for the Browns' quarterback situation. The former cornerback is backing Shedeur Sanders, arguing Cleveland already has its guy. But his solution relies on more than just the young QB.

In one of the recent episodes of the Deebo and Joe Podcast, former Browns cornerback Joe Haden defended Sanders and cited that the 24-year-old Pro Bowler has immense potential under the new head coach.

“Right now, I don’t think we need to get a new quarterback. We’re working with Sanders. We're working with Dillon Gabriel as the backup, but Shedeur gets a good year with the new coach, gets some weapons around him, get [Quinshon] Judkins back healthy."

Haden's plan could work. Part of the problem was poor pass protection, with Sanders getting sacked 23 times and forced into making hasty decisions. If they get a better O-line, they could solve part of the problem. Sanders' seven touchdowns for 1,400 yards could quickly improve.

But it won't stop there. The team needs reliable receivers. Rookie Harold Fannin Jr. topped the receiving yards with 731, while Jerry Jeudy came under heavy fire for dropped catches.

Now comes the second part of the solution: Todd Monken. As the offensive coordinator at the Ravens, Monken played a big part in turning Lamar Jackson into a two-time NFL MVP. And although things soured in the end between the two, he might just be what Shedeur Sanders needs to grow.

Combined with a strong running game, we could see Shedeur and Quinshon wreaking havoc. Judkins already made 230 carries for 827 yards and scored seven touchdowns, remaining impressive on the field until he fractured his ankle.

In any case, Browns are in no position to rope in another quarterback, even if they want to. Watson’s infamous $230 million guaranteed contract has left them with little cap space.

But does the rest of the team support Sanders?

Right after Kevin Stefanski was fired, GM Andrew Berry made it clear that the team was keeping their quarterback options open. While Dillon Gabriel wasn't any better than Sanders, Deshaun Watson remains an option.

However, the one positive for Sanders is that his team has his back. A few weeks ago, star Myles Garrett revealed Sanders would have to fight for the spot and prove himself. Now, running back Quinshon Judkins revealed most of the team has faith in the young QB.

"To be the QB1 of any team, you have to have that locker room and have a voice. A lot of the guys believe in him. Just having that relationship with each other means a lot."

It will all come down to the draft. Once the Browns have their picks in, fans will see the picture more clearly.
