Remember the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Joe Flacco won for his Super Bowl XLVII MVP performance? More than a decade later, the prized ride is still sitting in his garage, gathering dust.

“As you can see, it’s been in this garage,” Flacco said in the Netflix Quarterback docuseries, per Ari Meirov X handle. “I think it’s been in here for probably five years. It’s kind of like a little trophy. I mean, you keep your trophies stuffed in the attic somewhere, and this is just a bigger version of that.”

Raising five children leaves little room for supercars, making practical family vehicles the obvious choice over a sleek sports coupe.

“I’m a functional person, so the car doesn’t function for us,” Flacco’s wife, Dana, said, per Ari Meirov X handle. “But it’s just such a trophy; just such an amazing feat that you can’t get rid of it.”

Flacco revealed that he not only misplaced the keys, but the doors no longer open, the car is missing a door handle, and to top it all off, the engine appears to be in bad shape.

While Flacco acknowledged that he no longer drives the car, he admitted he is unlikely to part with it, as it serves as a trophy to him.

Given that, why is Flacco not a big fan of expensive cars like his other teammates? Well, let’s hear it from him.

Flacco's practical philosophy

According to Spotrac, Joe Flacco has earned nearly $180 million over the course of his career. However, despite his massive earnings, the veteran quarterback has never been one to splurge on luxury cars. Instead, his go-to ride is a modest Ford Expedition.

"No, no, never. Never. Never indulged in any of that,” he said per Cleveland.com last year. “And I still don’t have the desire to. There’s time. Like, the furthest I go is like, you go on the website and say, ‘What if?’ But you can never actually get anywhere past that.”

Despite landing multiple lucrative NFL contracts, including a then-record $120.6 million extension after his Super Bowl XLVII triumph, Flacco has never embraced the desire for luxury cars, and even now, he is against it.

“I don’t think I fit in those things, for one,” the 6′6″ quarterback joked. “But all I would end up doing is getting in trouble if I had one of those.”
