Shedeur Sanders has been gaining praise ever since he debuted against the Ravens. Joe Burrow has been added to that list.

In the press conference, a reporter asked Burrow if he had watched Sanders play in college. The Bengals QB replied with praise for the Browns' rookie.

"Yeah, I really enjoyed watching him in college. I thought he made a lot of plays. I thought he could throw it. And then obviously, given who his dad is, he knows how to handle the media and knows how to handle the spotlight."

Sanders recorded 14,347 passing yards, 134 total touchdowns, and a 70.1% completion percentage over his college career. He won multiple awards, including the SWAC Offensive Player of the Year (2022), AP Pac-12 Newcomer of the Year (2023, Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year (2024), etc.

Burrow also added, "certainly under the microscope, more than any other fifth-round pick that's ever been in the history of football. And every clip that I see, you know, he seems to be handling it well, says most of the right things in the media, is who he is. He's himself. That's what you want out of a football player. So he seems to be handling it the right way."

Burrow's words are not wrong; the Browns' rookie has been under constant evaluation since his debut. Many experts and fans have hyped him as the Browns' franchise QB, which only brings in more eyes.

On top of all that, reporters have asked Shedeur Sanders very tough questions, including his reactions with Kevin Stefanski. The former Colorado QB has answered all of them without a controversial statement. Burrow and Sanders also share a record.

These two are the only NFL QBs in the Super-Bowl era to record 350+ passing yards, three passing touchdowns, and one rushing touchdown in a single game as a rookie.

Joe Burrow is not the only Shedeur Sanders fan in the Bengals camp

The Cincinnati Bengals' head coach Zac Taylor had nothing but good words for the Browns' QB ahead of their Week 18 clash.

“I think he elevated a program,” Taylor said when asked how he evaluated Sanders in the draft process. “He certainly helped bring a lot of eyes to Colorado, because they did some great things when he was there."

Sanders helped revive Colorado’s football program. He took the team from a 1-11 record before he arrived to a combined 13-12 record across two seasons, including a nine-win season and a bowl appearance in 2024. Colorado retired his No. 2 jersey, a rare honor reserved for the school’s most legendary players.

Taylor also said, "For him to come into the league and as a rookie have success was really impressive. We’ve got a tough task in front of us, and he’s done a really good job. He’s got confidence, and he’s obviously got a lot of reps under his belt now, and he’s made a lot of plays for these guys.”
