Jerry Jeudy's future in Cleveland is looking uncertain. After a disappointing 2025 season, the Browns are reportedly targeting new wide receivers in free agency. This move puts Jeudy and his hefty contract directly in the spotlight.

"The Browns will need additions at wide receiver and tight end, given Monken's affinity for multiple tight ends sets and a receiver room that was the least productive in the NFL in 2025 (1,467 receiving yards)."

Within the current lineup of wide receivers in the Browns' ranks, Jeudy could be the one to wind up on the chopping block. While DeAndre Carter, Jamari Thrash, and Cedric Tillman provide squad depth and backup, Jeudy can help save the Browns some money.

The 26-year-old athlete is on a 3-year, $52.5 million contract extension, with little to show on the field. His performance in 2025 dipped significantly from the previous season, recording only 602 yards and two touchdowns on 50 receptions. Apart from him, only rookie Harold Fannin Jr. had more than 500 yards.

"Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce is the top free agent wide receiver available after the team did not tag him. Pierce, 25, led the league in yards per catch (21.3) in 2025. With the state of Cleveland's offense, it might be tough to entice top wideouts."

Pierce is not only a year younger than Jeudy but also caught 1003 yards and scored 6 touchdowns on 47 receptions. And if they don't go for Pierce, Brandon Aiyuk remains an option.

Despite questions about his future, Jeudy currently has the team's support. Berry told reporters at the NFL Scouting Combine that he is pleased with his young players.

"But we have a lot of confidence in Jerry. For a guy to produce how he did at 25 years old, break all the records and play to his ability, we think that if we can make our offense a bit more operational, we would expect him to bounce back."

Even the new offensive coordinator, Travis Switzer, said that he is looking to see Jeudy get going again.

"You got Jerry Jeudy, who is a very talented player, and that’ll be something that we’re looking to try to tap into."

From Jeudy's underperformance to veteran quarterback Deshaun Watson's injury, the team had a forgettable season (5-12), and reinforcements from free agency might help them turn their luck around.
